Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 3 June 2026
1. Introduction
e-hotbetting.com is committed to safeguarding personal information in line with New Zealand privacy requirements, including the Privacy Act 2020 and the Privacy Amendment Act 2025. We are an informational platform only and do not operate wagering services.
2. Information we collect
We may collect contact details (such as your email address when you write to us), technical usage data (including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring URLs, and pages viewed), cookie and local-storage preferences, and any information you voluntarily provide through email or other communications. We do not operate wagering accounts and do not collect betting history, payment card numbers, or operator login credentials.
3. How we collect information
Information is mainly collected directly from you. Where data is received indirectly, we apply notification requirements where applicable, including obligations under Information Privacy Principle 3A (IPP3A) relating to collection from third parties.
4. Use and disclosure
We use personal information to operate and improve the site, respond to enquiries, analyse aggregated traffic patterns, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. Data may be shared with trusted hosting, analytics, or email service providers who process information on our instructions and only for documented purposes. We do not sell personal information. Where affiliate tracking is used, partner networks may receive technical identifiers consistent with their own privacy policies when you follow outbound links.
5. Storage and security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards against unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure, including access controls, encryption in transit where supported, and limitation of staff access to operational needs. No online transmission is completely secure; you provide information at your own risk, though we review providers and configurations periodically.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes collected, including legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements. Contact correspondence is typically retained for a limited period unless a longer retention period is required to resolve an ongoing matter. Aggregated analytics may be kept in de-identified form.
7. Your rights
You may request access to and correction of personal information we hold, subject to applicable law under the Privacy Act 2020. You may also ask us to delete information where we have no lawful reason to retain it. We will verify identity before releasing sensitive records and respond within reasonable timeframes prescribed by law.
8. Overseas disclosure
If information is processed outside New Zealand, comparable safeguards are applied consistent with cross-border data transfer requirements, including assessment of recipient privacy standards before disclosure.
9. Breaches and complaints
Where required, privacy breaches are handled and reported in line with legal obligations. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your rights have been infringed.
10. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes, including amendments introduced by the Privacy Amendment Act 2025.
11. Marketing and communications
We do not send unsolicited promotional email without consent. If you contact us, we may reply regarding your enquiry. You can ask us not to retain your address for future outreach where the law allows deletion.
12. Contact
For privacy enquiries, access requests, or corrections, contact info@e-hotbetting.com. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
